Zusammenfassung

Störungen der Funktion und Integrität der Schleimhäute sind ein oft unterschätztes Problem bei Patienten, die eine systemische Chemo- und/oder Strahlentherapie erhalten. Ob von kurzer oder langer Dauer, diese unerwünschte Wirkung beeinträchtigt die Nahrungs- und Flüssigkeitsaufnahme und die Lebensqualität. Besonders bei oraler Mucositis haben Pflegende einen großen Einfluss darauf, mit gezielten Interventionen Beschwerden und Komplikationen zu verringern.
Dieses Kapitel informiert über die Erkennung, Erfassung und Behandlung der Mucositis und der begleitenden Symptome.
