Zusammenfassung

Es gilt allgemein als akzeptiert, dass die unkomplizierte Leistenhernie effektiv und effizient laparoendoskopisch operiert werden kann. Bei Vorliegen einer komplexen Hernie (Skrotalhernie, irreponible oder strangulierte Hernie, Rezidivhernie, Hernie nach transabdomineller Prostataresektion oder nach Unterbauchchirurgie) wird dies noch von vielen Chirurgen infrage gestellt. Das Kapitel zeigt, dass auch diese Hernien laparoendoskopisch erfolgreich behandelt werden können, wenngleich die Operation schwieriger ist und der Chirurg die entsprechende Expertise besitzen muss. Außerdem wird auf die besondere Problematik bei der Femoral-, der Obturator- und der weiblichen Hernie eingegangen.
