Zusammenfassung

Die Verabreichung von intravenösen Therapien ist eine zentrale Aufgabe von onkologischen Pflegefachpersonen. Sie sorgen für einen sicheren venösen Zugang zur Vermeidung von Paravasaten, verfügen über fundiertes Fachwissen zu Onkologika, deren mögliche akute Infusionsreaktionen sowie das gewebstoxische Potenzial des Medikaments und wenden die nötigen Sicherheitsmaßnahmen im Umgang mit Zytostatika an. Ein wachsender Anteil an onkologisch wirksamen Medikamenten ist in Tablettenform verfügbar. Zunehmend übernehmen Pflegefachpersonen auch Aufgaben in der Betreuung von Krebsbetroffenen mit ausschließlich oralen Therapien. Eine auf die Person abgestimmte individuelle Patientenedukation über Medikament, Einnahme und Wirkung sowie die Abgabe von schriftlichem Informationsmaterial kann die Adhärenz zur oralen Therapie verbessern.
