Zusammenfassung

Kinder geben oft Schmerzen im Bereich des Bewegungsapparates an. Ernsthafte rheumatische Erkrankungen treten im Vergleich selten auf. Bei einer Arthritis von über sechs Wochen Dauer sollte man aber unbedingt an die juvenile idiopathische Arthritis denken. Sie ist mit ihren sieben Subtypen nach einem Step-up-Schema inzwischen sehr gut zu behandeln. Für die Prognose und die Vermeidung von Folgeschäden sind die frühe Diagnose und der rasche und adäquate Therapiebeginn essenziell. Etwa die Hälfte der Patient:innen braucht auch noch im Erwachsenenalter eine Behandlung.
