Zusammenfassung

Die Schwäche der Vorfußhebung („drop foot“) ist ein verbreitetes Problem bei neurologischen Erkrankungen wie Schlaganfall, multipler Sklerose, Schädel-Hirn-Trauma, inkomplettem Querschnittsyndrom sowie infantiler Zerebralparese und führt zu einer insuffizienten Hebung des Vorfußes in der Schwungphase des Gangzyklus. Unterstützend zum gangorientierten Training wird die funktionelle Elektrostimulation (FES) des N. peronaeus zunehmend häufiger angewandt.
Neben der Handhabung der FES wird der Effekt der FES auf die funktionelle Mobilität sowohl anhand semiquantitativer als auch anhand quantitativer Gangparameter reflektiert. Nicht außer Acht gelassen werden soll in der Beschreibung des Effekts der FES die Differenzierung zwischen Orthese- und Therapieeffekt, induziert durch eine langfristige Anwendung der FES des N. peronaeus.
